About me

Lis

After a lot of years working self-employed in horticulture, I decided in 2006 that I needed to change career. Difficult weather in the previous couple of years had put a dent in the profits, and I was not able to continue. My interest in complementary medicine was the first place I looked for inspiration for a new career, but I couldn't have known then how transformational my training in Health Kinesiology would prove to be.

I began my training that September in Oxford, and over the following two years I completed five courses and my final assessment, whilst life at home fell apart. My partner and I split up, and a few weeks later my father was taken into hospital with

suspected lung cancer. By the time I was doing my fourth HK course, he was in hospital for the biopsy for Mesothelioma, and it was, as you can imagine, a hugely stressful time. I was blessed with a wonderful tutor, who never tried to tell me that I couldn't, or shouldn't, keep going. So, with all this going on, I carried on and completed my courses, passing my final assessment in 2008.

Dad's prognosis had been very poor at the end of 2007 when he'd received the diagnosis of Mesothelioma, and he was given just 6-9 months. There aren't any conventional treatments that have shown much promise in the treatment of this type of cancer, and so he didn't take any of the options he was given by the hospital (chemo etc.). He'd always been very fit and active, and he remained so until a few months before his passing in the Summer of 2010. He actually survived his diagnosis by 2½ years, and passed away at the age of 84.

Since his passing, I have watched my business slowly blossom. 2011 has already been a record breaking year with clients, and I am enormously excited about this and about the potential of this therapy to unlock the potential in people. I have been blessed to have met people who take themselves very seriously as an asset, whether in business or to their families, and who have invested in themselves using Health Kinesiology.

Why should you choose me?

In Kinesiology, every therapist brings their own skill-set and knowledge to the table (well, couch...). They also bring their own tools. Those tools may be other therapeutic modalities, particular items (such as crystals or essences) or other adjunct balances which have been brought about by client's bodies requests for something not on the menu. I have been blessed with some very rare tools, and these are all available to you, if your body wants them!

In Kinesiology, we believe that your body knows best, and that if you feel drawn to a particular therapist, then it's most likely that this will be the person who has the skill-set, knowledge or tool your body would like.

Kinesiologists are all unique, just like clients!

The types of sessions I offer:

Taster sessions
(30 minutes)

If you haven't tried Kinesiology before, you might like to start with a taster session. During the taster session, you'll be balanced initially, and then we'll do one group of work which is relevant and helpful to you, as indicated by the muscle testing. This can be any group your body indicates would be useful for you right now. You'll also have an opportunity to discuss anything you might like to work on, and we can assess through muscle testing how HK might help.

1 hr sessions
(Children under 16 have 45 minute sessions)

During these sessions, we complete around four groups of work for you, as chosen through muscle testing. These may include any group your body indicates would be useful for you in dealing with whatever you are choosing to work on right now. There are over eighty differ-ent types of group that your body might choose, and thousands of different variations in the wording or way the groups are done - the work is truly bespoke!
